April 28, 2013 The Taliban think that democracy and Islam are incompatible, and are murdering candidates to drive home their point. Democracy, they say, is just for Jews and Christians. Apparently the Taliban are all greasy Islamophobes.

“Eight people killed as Pakistani Taliban target more candidates,” from CNN, April 28 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

(CNN) — At least eight people were killed Sunday as the Pakistani Taliban continued to attack candidates in that country’s upcoming elections, authorities said. The Pakistani Taliban, in a statement obtained by CNN, took responsibility for the bombings at the offices of candidates in Peshawar and the Orakzai Agency.

The Taliban said it targeted secular candidates, but many parties have been hit by the increasing violence.

“A man cannot be secular and Muslim at a time. These are two different doctrines in nature,” the statement said.

The elections in May mark the first time in Pakistan’s history that one democratically elected government will give way to another.

The nation has experienced three military coups, been ruled by generals for half its life, and it remains mired in near-constant political turmoil.

Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has told Pakistanis to stay away from the elections.

“We are not in favor of democracy, democracy is for Jews and Christians,” he said in recent propaganda video.

“They are intended to divide Muslims; we want the implementation of Sharia (law) and for that jihad is necessary,” he added.

Both attacks Sunday targeted independent candidates.

Five people died and 22 were wounded by Sunday’s explosion in Orakzai, said Dilawar Khan Bangish, police chief of the Kohat District.

In Peshawar, three people were killed and eight wounded, said Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, a senior police official.

The bombings follow three attacks Saturday and one Friday….

“Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of”

syrian-rebels-2-600x350If Obama intervenes, he will be aiding the jihadis and enabling the creation of yet another Sharia state that will be unshakably hostile to the U.S. Of course, that doesn’t mean he won’t intervene.

Andrew Bostom has some illuminating historical background here.

“Islamist Rebels’ Gains in Syria Create Dilemma for U.S.,” by Ben Hubbard in the New York Times, April 28 (thanks to Andrew Bostom):

CAIRO – In Syria’s largest city, Aleppo, rebels aligned with Al Qaeda control the power plant, run the bakeries and head a court that applies Islamic law. Elsewhere, they have seized government oil fields, put employees back to work and now profit from the crude they produce.Across Syria, rebel-held areas are dotted with Islamic courts staffed by lawyers and clerics, and by fighting brigades led by extremists. Even the Supreme Military Council, the umbrella rebel organization whose formation the West had hoped would sideline radical groups, is stocked with commanders who want to infuse Islamic law into a future Syrian government.

Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of.

McCaul (R-TX): Boston jihad bombers part of “wider conspiracy”; Manchin (D-WV): DoJ “pulled the trigger too soon” in Mirandizing Tsarnaev

It is good that these things are being said. However, with the Obama Administration in charge and a mainstream media eager to carry water for it, we may never know the full story. “Rep. Michael McCaul: Boston bombing suspects had help,” by Sean Lengell for The Washington Times, April 28:

The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee says evidence suggests that the Boston bombing suspects had help in the attack and that there likely is a “wider conspiracy.”“Given the level of sophistication of this [explosive] device, the fact that the pressure cooker is a signature device that goes back to Pakistan and Afghanistan … leads me to believe there was a trainer,” Rep. Michael T. McCaul, Texas Republican, told “Fox News Sunday.”

“The question, where is that trainer or trainers? Are they overseas in the Chechen region, or are they in the United States. And [with] my conversations with the FBI, that’s the big question.”

Mr. McCaul says U.S. officials are casting a “wide net” worldwide to find anyone responsible for aiding the suspects, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who is in custody, and his brother, Tamerlan, who was killed in a shootout with police during the manhunt for the two.

The lawmaker said he believes the mother of suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev played a significant role in his radicalization and is a “person of interest.” He said if she comes to the U.S., she likely will be detained by authorities for questioning.

Mr. McCaul criticized some in the Obama administration for an initial “rush to judgment” that the brothers didn’t have foreign help.

“Right out of the box, U.S. officials anonymously are saying there is no foreign connection to this case when in fact the FBI just began its investigation into this case,” he said. “And yet the narrative played out by some in the administration is that, no, there’s no foreign connection.”

“I reserve judgment until all the evidence comes in.”

Sen. Joe Manchin III, West Virginia Democrat, speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” also said he’s not convinced the brothers acted alone.

“This is a pretty … sophisticated bomb they made and how they did it,” he said.

Mr. Manchin added that the Justice Department “pulled the trigger too soon” in reading Mr. Tsarnaev his Miranda rights on Monday.

“I don’t know what the rush to file chargers [sic] were,” he said. “I would’ve liked to have seen the process of him being interrogated go much further before Justice dropped the gauntlet.”

Boston jihadis’ mother told Tamerlan Tsarnaev to go to “Palestine”

Instead, he opted to wage jihad in the U.S. This illustrates that the Boston bombings are part of the same jihad that Muslims are waging against Israel, and against free people all over the globe.

Sharia in action in Iran: 850,000 female children are married

“The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with ‘Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).” — Bukhari 7.62.88

Muslims take this seriously and imitate Muhammad in this. Article 1041 of the Civil Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran states that girls can be engaged before the age of nine, and married at nine: “Marriage before puberty (nine full lunar years for girls) is prohibited. Marriage contracted before reaching puberty with the permission of the guardian is valid provided that the interests of the ward are duly observed.”

The Ayatollah Khomeini himself married a ten-year-old girl when he was twenty-eight. Khomeini called marriage to a prepubescent girl “a divine blessing,” and advised the faithful: “Do your best to ensure that your daughters do not see their first blood in your house.”

The Qur’an also allows for marriage to pre-pubescent girls, stipulating that Islamic divorce procedures “shall apply to those who have not yet menstruated” (65:4).

“Gender and Society In Iran – Part 1: The Debate Over Child Marriage, Including Child Brides Wed To Adult Men,” by Y. Mansharof and A. Savyon for MEMRI, April 24:

…Under Iranian law, girls may marry at 13 and boys at 15, and children under 10 may marry with the approval of their guardian and the [Islamic] court.[1]According to official statistics, about one million children, even under age 10, are married. The statistics also show that 85% of these one million married children are girls – meaning that most of them are married to grown men.[2]Child Marriage Is Growing, And Poses Great Risk To Society – But It’s Permitted By Islamic Law:

They-Say-We-Say

Let’s call Islam Islam

Common sense from an ex-Muslim. “Calling Islam ‘Islam,'” by Bosch Fawstin at FrontPage, April 26:

I wrote this a few years ago, and I think it’s worth posting again, particularly after the latest jihadist attack in Boston. I noticed, after the attack this week, that a number of people are using more proper terminology to identify this enemy, which is very important in taking on the enemy. I recall watching panel discussions after 9/11, with each panelist using a different term to describe the enemy we face. That annoyed the hell out of me as I think it’s incredibly important to identify the proper terms when speaking about our enemy, and to NEVER create terms, for whatever reason. To me, the only difference between “Islamism” and Islam is three letters. Below I try my best to make the case why we should always call Islam “Islam.”Western intellectuals and commentators refer to the enemy’s ideology as:

“Islamic Fundamentalism,” “Islamic Extremism,” “Totalitarian Islam,” “Islamofascism,” “Political Islam,” “Militant Islam,” “Bin Ladenism,” “Islamonazism,” “Radical Islam,” “Islamism,” etc….

The enemy calls it “Islam.”

Imagine, if during past wars, we used terms such as “Radical Nazism,” “Extremist Shinto” and “Militant Communism.” The implication would be that there are good versions of those ideologies…

“A man cannot be secular and Muslim at a time…We are not in favor of democracy, democracy is for Jews and Christians”

The Taliban think that democracy and Islam are incompatible, and are murdering candidates to drive home their point. Democracy, they say, is just for Jews and Christians.
